Happy New Year!
Our first event of this new year will be a SPECIAL DISCUSSION DINNER with The Rt Hon MICHAEL HOWARD QC MP on WEDNESDAY, 30 JANUARY 2008.
Michael Howard really needs little introduction if any. He served with distinction as Secretary of State for Employment, Secretary of State for the Environment and later Home Secretary in the last Conservative Government. Becoming Shadow Foreign Secretary in 1997 he retired from the Front Bench in June 1999. That was not to last however with him invited to return as Shadow Chancellor in Sept 2001. In November 2003 he was elected as Leader of the Conservative Party and would lead the Party into the 2005 General Election, where it secured considerable gains. The day after the election he announced his decision to stand down as Leader, calling for a debate on the future direction of the Party before the commencement of any leadership election. He was in turn succeeded by David Cameron. He continues to represent Folkestone and Hythe, but will be stepping down as a MP at the next election.
This Special Discussion Dinner will be held in the Kingsway Hall Hotel at 66 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5BX. The evening will begin with pre-prandial drinks at 7:15pm with dinner being served at 7:45pm. The Dress Code is Business Attire and the cost is £45.00 per ticket.
INVITEES ARE AS EVER VERY WELCOME TO BRING GUESTS.
If you wish to attend this event, please RSVP as soon as possible to co-presidents@disraelians.org. Places are available on a strictly first come, first served basis and will only be guaranteed with receipt of payment. Which can now be made on this site. Alternatively, payment can be taken by cheques payable to 9The Disraelian Dining Society9, and sent to Duncan Crossey at Flat 156 Berglen Court, 7 Branch Road, London E14 7JY. The COST INCLUDES 3 COURSE MEAL & WINE during Dinner.
Please note that the cancellation of your RSVP will only be accepted, without payment being due, up until 72 hours prior to the commencement of the event. Tickets will be sent out approximately 48 hours prior to the event by e-mail. Additionally, please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements.
